Opening Hours
Prince Sauna in Seoul
The Prince Sauna is a popular meeting point for the LGBTQ+ community in Seoul and is conveniently located in the Mapo-gu district, near Shinchon Station. This establishment is known for its vibrant atmosphere and has a special focus on young, attractive men. As a result, there is a strict entry policy: fit and young men are primarily welcome, while some foreigners are also granted entry, provided they meet the requirements.
Opening Hours and Admission Prices
The sauna is open around the clock, allowing for flexible planning for visitors. Admission costs about 6,500 won (approximately 5 USD) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and increases to about 13,000 won (approximately 10 USD) from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The admission fee includes free amenities such as condoms and personal care products, creating not only a safe but also an inviting environment.
Facilities
Although there are no traditional sauna or jacuzzi offerings, the establishment is clean and well-maintained. The main amenity is the communal shower area, which is convenient for users. The Prince Sauna focuses less on wellness in the traditional sense and more on a sociable atmosphere where community members can interact. There are also various relaxation areas that still provide a relaxed environment.
Visitation Tips
It is recommended to visit during peak hours, especially on weekends from 5 p.m., when the atmosphere is liveliest. This gives visitors the chance to experience the large selection of attractive young men. If your German language skills are a bit rusty, don't worry, most people here also speak English.
How to Get to Prince Sauna
To reach the Prince Sauna, you can order a taxi and ask for Donggyo-dong, or use the subway. If you take Exit 8 of Shinchon Station (Line 2, Green Line), it’s just a five-minute walk until you see the Family Mart on the left – the sauna is located on the third floor of that building.
Reviews
Opinions from other visitors present a mixed picture. On one hand, the Prince Sauna is frequently praised for its cleanliness and friendly staff. The relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices are also positively highlighted. However, some visitors complain about the strict entry policies and express that the sauna does not offer the traditional facilities like steam baths or jacuzzis that they expected. At times, it is referred to as a "fake sauna," indicating the dissatisfaction of some guests.
