The ranking takes into account various factors; these include, among others, the political situation and stability, the healthcare system, the social security of citizens, and the quality of infrastructure. In total, 173 countries are examined for the "Economist" ranking based on 30 indicators and then rated on a 100-point scale. And which city has now achieved the top rank?

... Vienna! Once again, the Austrian capital has secured the first place, impressing for the third year in a row with an index of 98.4 out of a possible 100 points. Vienna's mayor, Michael Ludwig, proudly stated that this exceptional result should be understood primarily as an award for the diligent Viennese. The diverse and rich culture, safe living, and perhaps even the local humor make Vienna simply an unbeatable wonderful city worth living in.

... also again does not include a single German city in 2024. The first city is Frankfurt, which is ranked 17th, although it has to share this position with Luxembourg. In second place on the list is Copenhagen (Denmark), which has ranked there for the third consecutive time.
