The Most Impressive Places in the World
The American magazine "Time" has once again named the 100 most impressive places in the world – and two of them are even in Germany.
We will introduce you to these places below, which include not only cities or regions but also hotels or excursion destinations, as long as they are extraordinary and impressive, thus serving as inspiration for every travel bucket list.
Among the German locations on the list is the Green Bunker in Hamburg.
Already from afar, one can spot the spectacular World War II structure on Heiligengeistfeld, which is now meant to attract locals and tourists: The Green Bunker welcomes all guests for free to explore its bar, rooftop garden, and an impressive pathway upwards. Once a 38-meter tall flak bunker, it has been raised by five stories to 58 meters in recent years and lushly landscaped, featuring a rooftop garden with 4,700 plants and a mountain path that leads upward via stairs attached to the facades. From there, one has a magnificent view over Hamburg, including the harbor, the Michel, or the nearby Millerntor football stadium of FC St. Pauli.
A place in Berlin also made it onto the list.
The Reethaus: 12 meters and made of straw, recently opened near Treptower Park on the Berlin Spree. It impresses visitors with its extraordinary architecture, but also with its purpose. The 1,300 square meter center is used culturally for music events and discussion rounds and is intended to continuously evolve.
Some of the most impressive travel destinations and activities worldwide include, for example, the Museum of Culinary Arts in Morocco, diving in Tutukaka (New Zealand), crossing the Matterhorn Alps, the Hornsgatan Slow Fashion District in Stockholm, or the Via Transilvanica in Romania. In the list of the most remarkable accommodations, you can find hotels such as the Four Seasons Resort in Koh Samui (Thailand), the 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh (Scotland), or the Warren Street in New York (USA).
