WorldPride is coming to Washington, DC from May 17 to June 8, 2025!

This will be celebrated with a global superstar, as Shakira will perform as the headliner at the WorldPride welcome concert. The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of WorldPride, so there will be plenty of events and activities as well.

Opening event

Shakira's show in Washington, DC will take place on Saturday, May 31, at Nationals Park as the official headliner of the WorldPride DC 2025 Welcome Concert. The Grammy-winning Latino superstar is known for her dynamic and energetic performances and will get the audience shaking and dancing.

The opening show along with the welcome ceremony also marks the start of the Capital Cup and the WorldPride Sports Festival. What to expect: opening speeches, a flag-raising ceremony by prominent dignitaries including the mayor, food and drinks, an interactive light installation, and a live concert.

Music festival

The two-day music festival features three stages with diverse, incredible talents from genres such as house, pop, drag, and techno. Get ready for the ultimate global dance party organized by Jake Resnicow's Dreamland and produced by Insomniac Events and Club Glow, the team behind the historic WorldPride event in NYC in 2019. The Global Dance Party will take place from June 6 to June 7, 2025.

WorldPride Parade – June 7, 2025

The Pride Parade itself will take place on June 7: decorative floats and various festive groups will parade along Constitution Avenue. Celebrate with the LGBTQ+ community as the monumental backdrop of the capital of the United States is adorned with splashes of color and lively fanfares.

WorldPride Closing Concert and Ceremony – June 8, 2025

The grand closing ceremony will finally take place on the National Mall: The evening will be characterized by performances, a montage of the past events of the week, and an interactive art installation. Also, experience the handover of the torch to the next WorldPride host city.
