Bath in the southwest of England

Most of the filming for "Bridgerton" took place in the spa town of Bath in the southwest of England, which in reality also became a meeting point for high society in the 18th century.

The impressive Royal Crescent building was used as the first filming location, which serves as the home of the Featherington family in the series. This iconic structure in Bath, offering magnificent views of Royal Victoria Park, is among the finest remaining Georgian buildings in Great Britain.

It is a museum from the 18th century today – and still arranged just as it would have been used from 1776 to 1786. Another building in Bath is the majestic Holburne Museum, which serves as the residence of the sharp-witted Lady Danbury in "Bridgerton."

And the fashion boutique "Modiste" of the seamstress Genevieve Delacroix is located on Abbey Street in Bath, which in reality is the café "The Abbey Deli," where you can take an excellent break from the "Bridgerton" tour and enjoy tea.

London as a setting

But the British capital also offers many scene discoveries, such as Hampton Court Palace in Richmond, which is nothing less than the residence of Queen Charlotte in "Bridgerton."

The interior shots then took place at Lancaster House in Westminster, where a lot was also filmed for historical dramas like "Downton Abbey," "The King’s Speech," or "The Crown."

Pure castle romance

Whoever wants to see the residence of the Duke of Hastings – in the series Clyvedon Castle – should travel to Yorkshire to the magnificent Castle Howard: This castle is a popular filming location, for example for Stanley Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon."
