More Information

Bodega Los Berrazales

The Bodega Los Berrazales is located in the picturesque municipality of Agaete on Gran Canaria and is not just a winery, but also the only coffee plantation in Europe. Nestled in the breathtaking landscape at the foot of the spectacular Tamadaba cliffs, this estate, which is over 200 years old, caters to the needs of wine and coffee lovers seeking an authentic experience.

The Location and Surroundings

The Bodega is set amidst citrus and coffee trees, surrounded by the fresh sea breeze that flows through the valley of Agaete. The geographical location at near sea level protects the grapevines from the salt concentration of the ocean. This sheltered location and the mild climate enable the production of high-quality wines and delicious coffee specialties that make the locals proud.

Wine and Coffee Experiences

A visit to the Bodega is more than just a wine tasting. Here, guests can book interesting tours where they learn more about the wine-making process and the meticulous care of the coffee plants. For just 12 euros per person, visitors have the opportunity to taste three different types of wine as well as the locally produced coffee. This is a great chance to enjoy the local flavors and aromas. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are ready to provide their guests with an unforgettable experience.

Prices and Booking Details

The tours take place on weekdays at flexible times, while a prior reservation is required on weekends. A small piece of cheese and the famous mango jam are often part of the tastings, and many guests praise the combination of wine and cheese as especially successful. Despite some critical voices regarding the quality of the coffee and pricing policy, the overall mood remains positive: A highlight of the tour is the opportunity to relax in the beautiful gardens under the tropical fruits and enjoy the view.

Reviews

Feedback from visitors is overwhelmingly positive. Many guests appreciate the warm atmosphere and the passionate guidance by Lorenzo, who not only explains the history of the winery but also shares his personal enthusiasm for the products. Some visitors noted that the Bodega can be very busy on weekends, which can slightly diminish the experience. While the wine tasting and the offered snacks are usually praised, there have also been critical voices about the coffee, which was perceived as average. However, for many, a visit to the Bodega Los Berrazales is an absolutely worthwhile detour that perfectly reflects the beauty of Gran Canaria.
